Conference Dinner

The conference dinner will take place in the Haulbowline Naval Base in Ringaskiddy, looking out over Cork Harbour. The organisers are very grateful to the Defence Forces for granting special permission to allow the dinner to take place on the base; a long history of collaboration exists between the Irish Naval Service and Cork Institute of Technology, exemplified by the fact that both entities are joint partners in the National Maritime College of Ireland (NMCI). Haulbowline island has been an historically significant site since the 1600s, and currently serves as the Headquarters of the Irish Navy.

As it is an active naval base, the names of all those attending the dinner must be provided to the Naval Service in advance. Hence, if you are planning to go to the dinner, it is important that you check with the registration desk to verify that you are on the list. In addition, if you are planning to drive down yourself, the make and registration number of your car, and the names of any passengers travelling with you, must be provided beforehand.

Bus to Dinner

Buses will leave Páirc Uí Chaoimh for Haulbowline at 18:45 sharp on Tuesday 4th. You will have indicated on the registration form if you wished to book a seat on the bus; again please check the lists at the registration desk on the day, to ensure you are still included.
